Cowes - Luxury Clipper Sailing Event

This Cowes Week, we are working in conjunction with Clipper Ventures to offer a one off opportunity to sail aboard one of the new Clipper 68ft Round the World Yacht’s in a competitive race.

Your group (up to 12 guests) can charter the whole boat, compete in the race and then retreat to the privacy of your own island to spend the night. This one night package is available on 5th, 6th or 7th August 2013.

Clipper Sailing Itinerary – Day 1

09.00 - Guests arrive at Cowes Yacht Haven, Isle of Wight to meet your Clipper crew. Board and meet fellow crew mates over an informal breakfast of fresh coffee, bacon sandwiches and pastries. Once everyone has settled in the crew will run through your day giving you key information on weather, tactics and the schedule.

10.30 - Slip lines and head out into the Solent tack, gybe and race training teaching all those on-board the skills required to sail the yacht. A racing lunch will be served on board at a time which is appropriate.

13.00 - Approximate timing; race start in the Ocean Racer Class, this class is for Big Boats with non-professional crews, yachts are around 65 – 75 foot. Exact start time, course, and race details TBC on the day of the event.

15.30 - Onwards; finish racing, (exact timings depend on the weather and course set on the day). You are then free to enjoy the race village in Cowes Yacht Haven and the atmosphere in Cowes itself (wristbands will be provided for entry).

17.30 – You and your guests are picked up from Cowes on private transfer to Spitbank Fort where you will be welcomed with a glass of champagne. Settle into your room, or relax aching muscles in the roof top hot pool and sauna.

19.30 - Pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the stunning Crow’s Nest followed by a gourmet 4 course dinner served in the Officers Mess.

22.00 - Enjoy a brandy under the stars around the gun emplacement fire pit with warm blankets. (Sing song optional!)

Day 2

9.00 - Traditional Cooked breakfast served in the Officer’s Mess

10.00 - Enjoy a full guided history tour around Spitbank Fort

11.00 - Relax and enjoy the forts amazing facilities. (Spa treatments/Fishing/Kite flying)

13.00 - Depart Spitbank on our private boat for Cowes.
